The Build A Quote estimating tool
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This estimating tool is provided by Phil Rozier, trading as Build a Quote ("we", "us"). We provide the tool to trade businesses so they can give their customers an instant indication of price. We are not the tradesperson and we do not carry out any work.
2.1 The tool gives you an indicative price range based on the answers you give and the prices supplied by the trade business whose tool you are using.
2.2 It is not a quotation and it is not an offer. You cannot enter into a contract through a trade business’s estimating tool. Nothing you do there commits you to anything, and it commits the trade business to nothing either.
2.3 The figure is there to help you decide whether to have a conversation. If you go ahead, the trade business will look at the job properly and give you its own quotation, on its own terms. That is the point at which anything becomes binding.
2.4 The figure may change once the trade business knows more — after a survey, or once site conditions are known. The tool tells you this at the point it shows you a price, and that wording is part of the estimate.
2.5 The prices in the tool belong to the trade business, not to us. We do not set them, check them or advise on them.
2.6 The accountancy tool works differently. Accountancy firms use a version of the tool that shows the firm’s services and fees and lets you, if you choose, sign an agreement with the firm online. If you sign, the agreement is between you and the accountancy firm, on the firm’s own terms of business, which the tool shows you before you sign. We are not a party to that agreement. The firm will check your identity, as the law requires, and confirm before any work starts. Clauses 2.1 to 2.4 apply to the trade businesses’ estimating tools, not to the accountancy tool; the rest of these terms apply to both.
3.1 Please give accurate answers. An estimate based on wrong information will be wrong.
3.2 Please do not attempt to interfere with the tool, submit automated requests, or use it other than to obtain an estimate for work you are genuinely considering.
3.3 The tool is free for you to use. We may change or withdraw it at any time.
4.1 If you submit your details, they are sent to the trade business so it can contact you. We also email a copy of your estimate to you.
4.2 From that point, any discussion, quotation or contract is between you and the trade business. We are not a party to it and we have no involvement in the work.
4.3 Any complaint about the work, the price charged, or the conduct of the trade business should be raised with them directly. We can help with problems in the tool itself.
5.1 We provide the tool with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free from error.
5.2 We are not responsible for the accuracy of the prices supplied by the trade business, for the work it carries out, or for any agreement you reach with it or with an accountancy firm.
5.3 Nothing here limits your legal rights as a consumer. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
